To understand your extinction, you must understand that universes like ours have a life cycle.
First, a universe emerges. Then, stars emerge. Then, planets emerge. Then, life emerges. Then, life discovers universe-ending technology. The cycle repeats.
However...
Some life has developed a vested interest in preserving this world.
They're called caretakers, and they've evolved to hunt creatures like you to extinction.
I am one of them.
Caretakers help control populations of intelligent life.
Caretakers are not a phenomenon that can be overcome with human resilience.
You will become caretaker prey, just like every other toolmaking creature that came before you.
